Ludlow's Farmer's Market
A little delayed this year, the Ludlow’s Farmer’s Market opened at the end of June. Opened every Friday afternoon from 4 to 7 through Columbus Day, it provides a good overview of the area’s farmers, food providers, and artisans.
Did you ever have vegan cheese? You might find it at the Farmer’s Market. Wine from a Vermont winery? Check. A fresh pie from a local bakery? Or a slice of Pizza? Whether it is fruit or vegetables, sausages or meat, cheese, pies, wine, or jewelry you are after – the farmers market will most likely have the right product for you. And of course Vermont Maple Syrup!
The best thing about the Farmer’s Market? It is just a short walk from The Governor’s Inn. You can take a stroll over to visit the market and look at the vendor’s offerings. We are excited to discuss your visit before you leave (maybe over a cup of coffee or cup of tea?), and hear about the bargains you made on your return. By the way – do not forget to take a shopping bag with you as Vermont does not allow free plastic bags.
If you are interested in other Farmer’s markets in the area, there are several others offered. The Springfield’s Farmer's market is about 25 minutes from the Inn by car and is opened Saturday’s from 10-1. Or in the opposite direction, the Rutland County Farmer’s Market opens Saturdays from 9 – 2 and is about 35 minutes from the Inn by car. Either one will provide you with more great choices!
